March 15, 2020 19 Adar, 5780     Dear Young Israel Family and Friends,   We have all been closely following the spread of the coronavirus and trying to navigate the uncertainty and concerns it is presenting.    With the unfolding developments, it is clear that unfortunately, we need to postpone our 50th Anniversary Gala Dinner & Show.   As you can imagine, this decision was made with great deliberation and discussion. We apologize for the inconvenience it may cause, but we are confident that it is the responsible and appropriate thing to do.   Moving forward, we are going to divide the exciting milestone celebration into two parts:    We are looking forward to publishing the 50th Anniversary Commemorative Ad Journal complete with memories, photos and reflections as well as sharing, for your viewing pleasure, our 50th Anniversary Video. Both will be shared on March 29th and will be widely circulated, on-line and electronically, to ensure ads and messages receive their maximum exposure.    We are working to reschedule our dinner and musical performance for either June 14th  or November 1st (subject to adjustment if needed). More information will be forthcoming.   We are so grateful to those who have submitted ads and made reservations. We know that these are difficult times and people are being hit hard in many ways but it is exactly in times like this that our community relies on Young Israel’s strong leadership, and we need to ensure that OUR shul is strong.      We need YOUR help to make this a success, despite the challenges surrounding it.      It is not too late to go to youngisraelwh.org/5oth to submit your ad immediately, so you can be included in the beautiful commemorative journal that will soon be released. (The deadline to submit ads has been extended until March 20th).   If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at 50th@youngisraelwh.org.   Thank you for your understanding and for your unwavering commitment to our successful 50th Anniversary campaign and to a beautiful event in the near future.   May we all be blessed with good health, peace and simcha.     Sincerely The 50th Anniversary Gala Committee
